Introduction

Tuesday 30th June – Thursday 2nd July 2015
West Downs Centre, University of Winchester, Hampshire

The theme of Landscapes for Life Conference 2015 (#L4L2015) is Sharing, Learning, Inspiring and it will bring delegates together to discuss how collaborative working between people and organisations who care about the UK’s Protected Landscapes can ensure that our Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and National Parks are well managed and safeguarded for future generations.

Three days of presentations, discussion, networking and site visits will investigate and highlight the examples of outstanding work from AONB Partnerships, Conservation Boards and National Park Authorities (NPAs). National issues will be addressed and the way Protected Landscape teams are working in partnership to promote the value and relevance of Britain’s Protected Landscapes to landowners, business, local authorities, tourism organisations, Government bodies and others and the innovative solutions they have developed to manage our most precious landscapes, will be shared.

Site visits encompassing the iconic landscapes of the Chichester Harbour, Cranborne Chase, DorsetIsle of Wight and North Wessex Downs AONBs and the South Downs National Park will highlight the work that is being undertaken within our Protected Landscapes. We are delighted to bring delegates to Winchester. We look forward to lively debate and discussion which will result in useful practical action throughout the UK’s Protected Landscapes. I am sure that delegates will leave the conference with the knowledge that the AONB Family and partners are working hard to protect our most valuable resource, ensuring that AONBs remain Landscapes for Life.

Thank you for joining us.
