Resources for Landscape Projects Workshop from Landscapes for Life on Vimeo.
Michael Sydney, Surrey Hills AONB, reports back from the Resources for Landscape Projects Workshop which discussed – How can AONB partnerships ensure that the work they are doing to deliver ecosystem services on a landscape scale is properly resourced both financially and timewise (staff/members/volunteers).
Richard Clarke also shared the other key points from the workshop –
- 1 – Clarity around restricted and unrestricted income.
- 2- Partnerships will continue to be vital, particularly as resources become tighter.
Quote from Rob Stowman, Yorkshire Wildlife Trust- “Important to have ‘oven-ready products’; i.e. – things rear to go…”
- 3 – AONBs already are willing to take risks to secure additional funding. Whilst local authority partners are increasingly becoming risk averse. A need to install confidence in authorities.
- 4 – Working with local authorities can be a double edged sword, but we shouldn’t under estimate the importance in providing cash-flow.
